I have had little to say about the False Prophet before, except I do not believe he is a Muslim.
- Why would the Jews follow or tolerate an Islamic Messiah?
- Islam propagates itself by violence, this doesn’t fit
I recommend the following video by Amir Tsarfati from Behold Israel where he discusses end time events, particularly “The Rise of The One World Religion” and discusses why an Islamic False Prophet wouldn’t work:
In the past I was opposed to the idea of the False Prophet being a Pope, but now am warmed up to the idea.
My opposition is that the Whore of Babylon will be destroyed and that the anti-christ wants everyone to worship him, and a Pope would not be for such a thing. But this is changing with the current Pope.
In my page Mystery Babylon, I uncover attributes of Pope Francis:
The following video, which was part of the Kairos conference on Oct 25, 2017, in Kansas City with Copeland and the Catholics, has Wesley Campbell, speak of the current Pope, who before becoming Pope, was Archbishop of Buenos Aires and later became a Cardinal. Wesley’s wife, Stacey, got to meet him when he was a Cardinal, and prophesied him to become Pope.
If this account is true, then his ordination as Pope is evidently been planned by satan, or we are in serious error, and if ordained by the devil, then these evangelicals are tuned into the wrong spirit to gain such a prophecy.
And even President Yoweri Museveni has testified that Pope Francis prayed for his (Museveni’s) fractured hand in 2015, and it got healed. See here:
Some more conservative Catholics are concerned. The current Pope has begun to show signs of changing the direction of the doctrines of Rome. As seen here:
Papal confidant claims Pope Francis has abolished hell, purgatory, heaven
Ex-bishops’ doctrine chief says darkness coming to light under Francis
Pope Francis Says ‘Personal Relationship With Jesus’ Is ‘Harmful And Dangerous’ as seen in this video:
Also this pope was a Jesuit. And Jesuits are more aligned to their organization than with Rome itself.
Here is supposedly part of the Jesuit oath:
I furthermore promise and declare that I will, when opportunity present, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition; and that I will hang, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive these infamous heretics, rip up the stomachs and wombs of their women and crush their infants’ heads against the walls, in order to annihilate forever their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly, I will secretly use the poisoned cup, the strangulating cord, the steel of the poniard or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honor, rank, dignity, or authority of the person or persons, whatever may be their condition in life, either public or private, as I at any time may be directed so to do by any agent of the Pope or Superior of the Brotherhood of the Holy Faith, of the Society of Jesus.
And if Pope Francis becomes possessed with a demon or more (because more will come out of the False Prophet: Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.) then he certainly would be willing to allow Mystery Babylon to be destroyed and continue to work with the anti-christ.
So this likelihood, in my opinion has increased. But only to about 40-50% likely. As there is another possibility I look towards.
One last thing I wish to mention before going to the next theory is the idea that the False Prophet is directly connected to the Whore of Babylon. Scripture does not seem to connect the 2, except by the idea of both have a religious element to them. And because of that many have put them together. This may or may not be true. With the new look at the current Pope it is possible, but I am not once again fully convinced.
The other theory I find possible is found in Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins book “Are we living in the End Times” and is also believed by other scholars and ministers.
1) Many scholars believe he will be Jewish because John says he comes up “out of the earth” rather than the sea. In the Bible, the sea is used to refer to the gentile people and nations while the earth (also figs, fig trees, and trees) is used to refer to the Jews and the nation of Israel.
2) “He had two horns like a lamb”. The Lord Jesus Christ is often referred to in the Gospels (Book of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John) and in the book of Revelation as “The Lamb of God”. As such, he has taken away the sin of the world (for those who accept his free gift of salvation).
The False Prophet’s arrival on the earth will look like a lamb with two horns. Lambs do not have horns, which are symbols of authority. Lambs are meek and mild animals. Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, “Watch out for false prophets. They come to like lambs but inwardly they are ferocious wolves” (Matthew 7:15). The False Prophet will come to Israel in sheep’s clothing, but God terms him a “Beast”.
3) “He spoke like a dragon” tells us he will derive power of speech from Satan who is the dragon. This False Prophet will then deceive people by acting like a lamb, but he will really speak the words of Satan. Satan is not against religion. He is however against a personal faith in and relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore, the False Prophet will most likely be one of the chief spokesmen in the Holy Land for the ecumenical power described in Revelation 17.
4) “He exercised all the authority of the first best on his behalf” The False Prophet will be given power from the Antichrist.
5) “He made the earth and all of its inhabitants worship the first beast” the False Prophet’s basic purpose and operation (with power from the antichrist and the power of speech from Satan) will be to drive people to worship the Antichrist.
I will refer you to this link for that information:
So it also may be that the False Prophet is an apostate Jew who will convince Israel to accept the anti-christ. I find this theory to be a little more likely, but am still unconvinced. I give this theory a 50-60% chance of being the case, but then again it could be neither! I just don’t know.
I just wish to share what I do have about the False Prophet and share it here to help with what I can. I will end this post with the relevant scriptures:
Rev 13:11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. And it had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon.
12 And it exercises all the authority of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those dwelling in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And it does great wonders, so that it makes fire come down from the heaven onto the earth in the sight of men.
14 And it deceives those dwelling on the earth, because of the miracles which were given to it to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the wound by a sword and lived.
15 And there was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might both speak, and might cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16 And it causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand, or in their foreheads,
17 even that not any might buy or sell except those having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of its name.
18 Here is the wisdom. Let him having reason count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. And its number is six hundred and sixty-six
